Straight out of the Cretaceous, come dig in at OMSI and check out dinosaurs, fossils, and more.

OMSI After Dark is for the 21-and-over only crowd, where you can drink beer or wine and roam the museum with no kids around. We have science demos, performances, DJ’s, artisan food and beverage vendors and more.

21+ Only | A valid government issued ID is required for entry for all attendees.

Tickets are $25 and include access to all of OMSI’s exhibit halls, activities, performances, Planetarium shows, lectures, and vendors taking place at the event.

Tyrannosaurs – Meet the Family | This exhibition brings the latest tyrannosaur discoveries to life, overturning our preconceptions about these ferocious predators.

Science Demonstrations

Genetic Engineering | Could scientists really bring dinosaurs back to life? Let’s discuss while extracting a bit of DNA.

Built Like a T-Rex | T rex had famously small arms. Were they actually useful? Put yourself in their “shoes” and try a physical challenge with shortened appendages.

Dinoflagellates | Not all “dino” are big lizards, or extinct. Come check out some living dino…flagellates, photo synthesizing plankton that bioluminesce!
Dino Bites | Why does smell matter? A blind taste test experiment.
Fish Out of Water | Want to learn about Tiktaalik, the first fish to come out of the water? In this demo we will learn about how this environmental change affects stress response and physiology.

Our Theory restaurant will be open from 5-10pm! Grab dinner or a drink before the event begins at 6pm. Enjoy wine, beer, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages. Our bars will close at 9:30pm, and alcohol samples given by vendors will end at 9:45pm.

OMSI GEMs are invited to elevate their After Dark experience with the new GEMs Elements Lounge located in our Turbine Hall Mezzanine. GEMs can enjoy stunning riverfront views, expedited check-in, complimentary drinks and snacks from a specially curated menu by Straightaway Mixologists, and more.

Is this event 21 and over only?

Yes, you must be 21+ to attend. Minors are not allowed. Everyone must present a valid government issued ID.

If I’m unable to attend, can I get a refund?

Yes. If your plans change, if you are feeling sick or have been potentially exposed to COVID please stay home. To request a refund email concierge@omsi.edu or call 503.797.4000 x0. We will give refunds until 5pm the night of the event.

Is there food and beverage at this event?

Yes, our restaurant, Theory will be open. Plus, we will have bars with beer, wine, cider and non-alcoholic drinks. We also typically have a couple artisan vendors giving out free samples of alcohol or snacks.

Our bars will close at 9:30pm, and alcohol samples given by vendors will end at 9:45pm.

Do I have to pay for parking?

Parking is $2 for after-hours events.
