Join community members and OMSI for the third-annual Pasifika and Asian American Community Science Night. This event welcomes visitors of all ages for a night of museum exploring, science demonstrations, vendor tables, and cultural entertainment – all in celebration of the local Pasifika and Asian American community. All are welcome!

Zoo In You | Zoo in You invites guests to explore the fascinating and complex world inside us that is our microbiome—a dynamic, adaptable, and delicately balanced ecosystem unlike any other found in nature. Through engaging hands-on interactives, visitors will discover who our constant microbial companions are, where they live, how diverse they are, and how scientists are discovering just how important they are to our personal health.

Ping Pong Ball Explosion | Have you ever seen one hundred ping pong balls explode out of a container? Visit the Turbine Hall Stage at 7:15 PM to watch!
Fire Tornado | What happens when you put fire in a cylinder tube? Visit the Turbine Hall Stage at 8:00 PM to watch!
You Taste What You Smell | Why does smell matter? A blind taste test opportunity.
Radiant Revelations: The Science of Fluorescence | Some chemicals glow under black light. This property is called fluorescence. The applications of fluorescent chemicals range from making ‘invisible ink pens’ to scientists using it to see details inside living cells. Learn more about fluorescence with Shreya Pramanik from OHSU.

6:00 – 8:00 PM | In this Hall young scientist build skills like asking questions, experimenting, taking risks, and sharing ideas with others. Each area is designed for children ages birth through 6 and their families to practice science skills.
