OMSI’s 10th Annual Studio Ghibli Film Fest Opens January 10!

[PORTLAND, Ore – January 2, 2024] – The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry’s (OMSI) popular Studio Ghibli Film Fest returns for its 10th year on January 10. Portland audiences will have the opportunity to experience beloved films from one of the most acclaimed animation studios in the world, starting with a celebration event in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the U.S. release of Howl’s Moving Castle. Tickets to the Opening Night Event will include movie snacks, a beverage, door prizes, and a pass for free museum admission on a future date.
From January 10 to February 9, daily showings include fan favorites such as: My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, and Hayao Miyazaki’s most recent film, The Boy and the Heron.
For more than 30 years, Japan’s Studio Ghibli has created some of the most revered and beloved animated works and characters and established itself as one of the world’s finest producers of animated motion pictures in the world. With a reputation for lush visuals, attention to detail and epic storytelling, Studio Ghibli creates intelligent, poetic, often fanciful films that embrace family, community and a deep concern for the environment.
OMSI, in partnership with distributor GKIDS, is proud to offer the Studio Ghibli catalog to local audiences at its Empirical Theater, the largest movie screen in Portland.
Tickets for all festival screenings are available at $9.00 for adults, $7.00 for youth, and $8.00 for seniors. OMSI Members receive a 50% discount on individual tickets, and group discounts are also available.
