World Forestry Center Discovery Museum
A staff member will read forest based children’s books. Additional forest crafts will be available. Target age: 6 and under, though all are welcome.

Lesson Beach provides instructors, and all the equipment and understanding of the physics of sand and water so you can make a much better sand castle/sculpture.

Meet the Ocean founder and underwater photographer Paul North is traveling to the North Pole! Join him for a Zoom presentation from the top of our planet as he discusses his discoveries and shares the natural history of the creatures that live north of the Arctic Circle.
Art of Pressed Cider
Portland Fruit Tree Project
This special event is part of OMSI’s Oregon Science Festival week! Bring your own container/jug for cider, we will have cups for sampling and a live press to show folx how it’s done, and bring fruit if you have any! We will harvest what is ripe from the orchard also!
Participate in the care of this community orchard resource through joining monthly work parties!
If you’re able to come, please bring personal pruning and/or landscaping tools, uniquely identified. And, of course, dress for the weather! We’ll bring an orchard ladder, some buckets, and tools. Hope to see you there!
Moth Pinning Class
PDX Insectarium
Learn the techniques of relaxing, pinning, and drying dead moth speciments. Ticket includes Insectarium admission, pins, forceps, styrofoam pinning block, and one dead moth. There is an option shadowbox add-on.
