FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[PORTLAND, OR – February 25, 2024] – More than fifteen, life-size LEGO brick dinosaurs will roar into the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry when the Jurassic World by Brickman® exhibition opens on March 15. This popular exhibition will bring to life Jurassic World—the blockbuster franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment—in its American debut.

With over 50 large-scale dinosaurs, props, scenes, and activities made from over 6 million LEGO® bricks, the immersive must-do adventure provides inquisitive explorers an interactive and thrilling journey through stories and characters from the Jurassic World franchise.

Visitors to Jurassic World by Brickman® begin by walking through the iconic over 12-foot-tall Jurassic World gates. They will then enter the Jurassic World lab, where dinosaurs are hatched, followed by the baby dinosaur enclosure, where a life-size LEGO® brick Brachiosaurus awaits that weighs well over 2 tons! Journey below past a flock of Pteranodons, then learn how to track dinosaurs across the island before encountering escaped Velociraptors Blue and Delta and, of course, an enormous T.rex.

The Brickman is a highly skilled team of LEGO® brick model builders and craftspeople, led by one of the world’s leading LEGO brick artists and the only LEGO Certified Professional in the southern hemisphere, Ryan “Brickman” McNaught.

“Fans will be blown away by the scale of the experience – some of these dinosaur models are the most complex and challenging ones we have made to date,” shares McNaught. “We have created and used new techniques and committed thousands of hours to build these models that I am personally incredibly proud of.”

In the Jurassic World by Brickman® experience, LEGO® fans will have an opportunity to channel their inner “Brickman” with a myriad of activities, including:

  • Island building
  • LEGO® paleontology and discovery through mystery mosaics
  • Creating new dinosaurs
  • Learning to track a dinosaur by creating species footprints
  • And even building escape vehicles to get away from a Tyrannosaurus Rex!

With 2.5 million bricks to play with, visitors will be able to put their engineering skills and creativity to the test. Jurassic World by Brickman creates the perfect fun-filled entry point for all students and children to experiment, play, and discover a lifelong love for art and engineering.

“From hands-on building adventures to seeing their own favorite Jurassic World dinosaurs built at an enormous scale, this exhibition is sure to inspire future designers and engineers,” says Russ Repp, VP of Marketing and Retail at OMSI. “Visitors and families are going to be awed by this experience.”

Elin Eggertsdottir, SVP of Production at Running Subway Productions, the North American producer of Jurassic World by Brickman, adds: “We are thrilled to bring this one-of-a-kind exhibition to American audiences for the first time. This experience combines creativity, interaction, and the timeless appeal of Jurassic World and LEGO bricks to engage visitors of all ages in an unforgettable journey.”

This extraordinary exhibition is made possible through the generous support of Boeing.

“This exhibit is an exciting, fun opportunity for Boeing to help inspire the next generation of innovators in our community and motivate kids to consider STEM studies,” said Russ Bardwell, General Manager at Boeing Portland.
