Science Pubs | Recommended for ages 10 and up
Science Pubs are a casual lecture series located in fun venues across the region, including the Empirical Theater at OMSI and McMenamins Kennedy School. Local experts share their knowledge on topics ranging from astronomy to public health to artificial intelligence. So, grab a drink and get ready to learn!

OMSI After Darks | Ages 21 and up
OMSI After Dark is for guests 21 and over, where you can have a drink and wander the exhibits after hours. We offer science demos, performances, DJ’s, artisan food and beverage vendors, community vendors, local educators, and more to help enhance your museum experience. Each event has a different theme, which allows us to shake things up a little each month.
Community Science Nights | All ages
Throughout the year, OMSI—in partnership with staff and community partners—hosts culturally specific events for the many vibrant communities that live in and around Portland. By hosting community science nights, OMSI hopes to create an environment where all visitors can feel a sense of belonging at the museum and take part in the science learning and exploration it has to offer.
Low Sensory Hours | All ages
Low Sensory Hours provide a less stressful experience for people who are sensitive to too much sensory input (noise, crowds, smells, lighting, etc.). Low Sensory Hours are especially welcoming for families and adults who are looking for a smaller, more adaptive museum experience.
Reel Eats | All ages
A $35 ticket to Reel Eats gets you admission to the largest screen in town as well as a tray full of bites that pair with moments in the film. This interactive film experience is like no other. Grab a tray and get ready to snack along with your favorite films.
Reel Science | All ages
Watch and learn at the Empirical Theater as OMSI brings the science of your favorite movies and documentaries to life on the big screen. Perfect for science and film lovers alike, this series combines the best of Science Pub with the fun of movie night, bringing in experts for lectures and Q&A sessions to amplify your movie-watching experience.
Educated Guess | All ages
Nerd out at trivia in the museum’s Theory restaurant. Our Educated Guess host will ask questions about science facts, current events, pop culture, and scientific discovery in this multi-round, interactive game. Grab some friends and build a team of up to 4 people. Prizes are awarded to the top three scoring teams, so get your team together and test your knowledge!
Masked Nights/Mornings | All ages
OMSI’s Masked Nights and Masked Mornings are immunocompromised-friendly events for safe and stress-free museum exploration. These events are low capacity with all staff and guests required to wear PPE masks (KN95 or KN94).
Adult Nights | Ages 18 and above
Explore the museum kid free! Test yourself with brainteasers in the Turbine Hall, explore the feature exhibit, experiment in the hands-on labs, and more, all with other adults only!
