The Sci-Fi Film Fest is back! For five weeks this spring, the festival will showcase over 30 of science fiction’s most memorable films on the Empirical Theater’s giant four-story screen.
From genre classics such as Blade Runner to more recent favorites like The Wild Robot, the festival’s offerings are sure to appeal to science fiction fans of all ages and interests.

Enjoy early-access, discounted tickets to the Opening Night celebration featuring an exclusive behind-the-scenes presentation by author Jeff VanderMeer, along with complimentary admission to all other festival screenings including our Closing Night event (film TBA). Pass holders also receive priority seating and two complimentary museum admission passes ($40 value)!

- Passes are non-transferable and subject to verification with photo ID
- Passes are non-refundable after March 26
- Passholders must arrive at least 15 minutes before showtime for priority seating
- All screenings are capacity pending; seating is subject to availability, and Festival Pass holders are not guaranteed admission in the event of late arrival
Annihilation
Join us for a Special Opening Night Event with Annihilation author Jeff VanderMeer—featuring a behind the scenes presentation with exclusive visuals on the film adaptation of his Southern Reach series, and a brief Q&A— followed by a screening of the film. Visitors get a chance to win a signed copy of the original trilogy as well as his new release, Absolution. Admission includes movie snacks, a beverage, museum admission pass ($23 value), and door prizes!
Please note: Sci Fi Festival pass purchasers have priority access to Opening Night tickets. Only a very limited number of general admission Opening Night tickets are available, found here.
