Meet a Scientist
What are local scientists creating and discovering?
Come find out, every 2nd Saturday at Meet at Scientist at OMSI!
Each Meet a Scientist event features STEAM professionals from across the Pacific Northwest, who work in fields ranging from paleontology to public health—and everything in between! Featured scientists bring tools, specimens, and hands-on activities to share with museum visitors of all ages.
The lineup of scientists changes with each event, so there’s always something new to learn! You might light up your passion for electrochemistry with a renewable energy experiment, use tree rings to solve puzzles of earth’s past climate, or find out how citizen scientists are protecting marine mammals on the Oregon Coast. And, of course, you’ll get to chat one-on-one with some amazing scientists who are excited to share their love of science with OMSI visitors.
