Distance learning has posed many challenges for families, students, and educators in the community. OMSI is excited and ready to provide a change of scenery for K–8 students with socially distanced day camps that help build critical thinking skills, social skills, and put science at the center of problem-solving.
There are currently no changes to state guidelines for summer camps, and we’re continuing to require face coverings, health checks, and distancing to keep our students and educators safe in the museum and classroom.
OMSI has successfully run day camps and child care throughout the pandemic, including summer 2020, and we will continue to apply this knowledge and expertise in summer 2021. Day camps will be in small stable groups and offer subjects like dinosaur hunting, astronomy, animation, science of soccer and more. Day camp registration is now open. Get ready for registration by checking out available day camps by grade level.
To ensure youth and staff safety, we will not be hosting overnight camps this summer. However, OMSI will be offering socially distant Day Camps at our Water Avenue Portland campus.
Get your students out of the house to celebrate a summer of science! Explore forensic science, program LEGO® robots, create animated movies, pilot a drone, care for exotic pets and more with OMSI's small group day camps and classes.
