THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT

OMSI and the University of Oregon - Portland are excited to partner during Portland Design Week and the What is Technology? Conference to bring a special live performance by director, composer and violinist Kenji Williams to the Kendall Planetarium.  This performance will feature the full-dome immersive show Bella Gaia, amongst other works.

Experience: What is Technology? examines interactions and transactions among practical arts and tools, techniques and processes, moral knowledge and imagination, to navigate our ever-changing world. In a broad sense, technology can be understood as methods of intelligent inquiry and problem-solving into all domains of life.

The Harry C. Kendall Planetarium will feature a special live solo performance by Kenji Williams (NASA Beautiful Earth/Univ. of Colorado Boulder), and screenings of works by Alfred Vendl and Martina Fröschl (Science Visualization Lab Angewandte, University of Applied Art Vienna), and Android Jones (Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian American Art Museum). This program will be introduced by Victoria Vesna (Design|Media Arts, Art|Sci Center, UCLA).
