For the last 10,000 years, humans have been making meat from animals. And while the result has been delicious, the way meat is produced poses some serious problems for the environment, animal welfare and human health. Memphis Meats is a startup developing a way to produce real meat by growing animal cells—without the need to feed, breed and slaughter actual animals. They’re on a mission to transform the way meat gets to the plate by making meat that is delicious, sustainable and better for the body.
This talk will cover the “why” and “how” behind Memphis Meats, as well as major events in the clean meat movement.
