Kendall Concerts: Music Under the Dome is a monthly planetarium concert series combining live performances with stunning visuals in riots of color, shape and movement, enveloping the audience into an adventure of the senses without ever having to leave their seat.
Beth Willis is what happens when a self-aware teenager is left alone with a guitar. She strummed her first G chord at age 17 and never looked back.
A proud daughter of the suburbs of Portland, Beth’s local-girl-made-good story keeps getting better. She sings, plays, and records, but her smoky, easy vocals are best when heard live, and are featured regularly with the best musicians in the region. Whether she’s sharing the stage with national acts (including Blues Traveler, Thompson Square, Mat Kearney, and Little River Band, to name a few) or killing it at a dive bar, her performances give her audiences a taste of a performer whose act is pure talent, relatably human, and all rock ‘n roll.
Her songs are self-deprecating yet doggedly hopeful stories of love, loss, lessons learned, and learned (and sometimes learned again). Never shying away from less-than-flattering self-reflection, she is every woman’s Everyman, and every man’s one thing he can’t live without, but probably shouldn’t live with.
This will be a rare all-original show. Willis will be joined by her band - Todd Chatalas, David Boicourt, and Jonathan Barber - and guest artist Sonny Hess.
