3D Impressionism Meets Environmentalism

July 1 – September 30, 2026

Enter a world where discarded objects become soaring animals, rushing waves, and sculptures that seem to move before your eyes. SAYAKA GANZ: RECLAIMED CREATIONS invites visitors to experience art from every angle—up close, where thousands of individual plastic objects reveal themselves, and from afar, where they transform into fluid forms bursting with motion, color, and life.

On view at OMSI from July 1 through September 30, this stunning installation features eighteen of internationally acclaimed artist Sayaka Ganz’s large-scale sculptures created entirely from reclaimed materials, including plastic utensils, baskets, toys, and other everyday objects. As visitors explore the installation, perspectives shift and hidden details emerge, turning ordinary items into something unexpectedly powerful and beautiful.

Ganz describes her work as “3D impressionism,” layering objects much like brushstrokes in a painting to create the illusion of movement and energy. Horses appear to gallop through space. Schools of fish swirl overhead. Every sculpture rewards curiosity, inviting guests to pause, look closer, and reconsider the relationship between waste, beauty, and the natural world.

Equal parts artistic creativity, environmental reflection, and the transformative power of perspective, SAYAKA GANZ: RECLAIMED CREATIONS offers a captivating experience for visitors of all ages.
