A quiet, kid-free experience at the museum
After Hours provides an opportunity to explore the museum in a quieter, kid-free environment. This event is designed for 18+ who are looking for fewer crowds, less noise, and a more laid-back museum experience.
This event will feature our newest traveling exhibition, Monsters of the Abyss: Aquatic Predators Past + Present.

General Admission (all attendees must 18 or older) includes:
– Access to our featured exhibit, Monsters of the Abyss, and the turbine hall
– 6:30 pm + 7:45pm | Mesozoic Marine Madness: Join paleontologist Maximilian Scott on a deep-sea adventure back to the age of the mosasaurs—massive marine lizards that ruled the ancient oceans. Discover how bite marks and bone injuries reveal shocking clues about their social lives and fierce underwater battles. Learn how these prehistoric predators behaved like their modern-day reptilian cousins—and what their bones can tell us about life in the Mesozoic’s wild blue depths!(lecture + Q&A ~30 mins)

Maximilian Scott, Paleontologist
Max is a paleontologist with a Master’s Degree from University of Manitoba where he wrote his thesis on Mosasaur behavior. He did his BSc at Indiana University, where he majored in geology with a minor in animal behavior. His career research interest is in the way animal behavior evolves. He is also a long-time public science educator online and occasionally on television, and in person at museums, schools, and public lands.

No, this night is designed to give adults 18 and over the opportunity to experience the museum with no kids, fewer crowds, and less noise than an OMSI After Dark.
OMSI plans to host this event twice a year. Once per new exhibit, typically in the Spring and Fall.
Admission includes access to our featured exhibit, Monsters of the Abyss, the turbine hall, and a lecture about Mosasaurs.
OMSI has switched to a new parking system via the mobile parking app, Parking Kitty, to create an easier and more streamlined experience for our visitors. OMSI parking will cost $5 + fees for 2 hours or $8 + fees for all day parking. Parking is $2 + fees for after-hours events.
