Participant Liability Waiver

Skating and skating sports, and use of rental equipment for those purposes, involves inherent risks, dangers, and hazards, which can result in serious injury.

All participants must be 5 years of age or older.

The participant and/or participant’s parent or legal guardian assume and accept all risk of injury while in the facility. All skaters agree to abide by the posted Skater’s Guidelines and acknowledge that all skaters skate at your own risk.

At all times the participant and/or at the participant’s parent or legal guardian shall be fully liable for personal injury and property damage incurred while on the premises. And, the skater/participant and/or the skater’s/participant’s parent or legal guardian agree to hold The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, its officers, agents and employees harmless from any and all liability for claims, demands and causes of action asserted against The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry arising from skater’s/participant’s use of the facilities or otherwise, upon the premises.

I have read understand and agree to abide by the statement above and hereby give permission for the child listed below to participate in skating or another skating activity at or sponsored by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ

In order to have a great skating experience it is important to get properly fitting skates. Personal skates are allowed with the exception of hockey or figure skates. Your skates can NOT have a toe pick. OMSI will inspect and approve any personal skates before we allow them on the ice.

Skates that are too big make skating very difficult and can cause blisters. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you need assistance.

Skate fitting tips:

1. Give us your actual shoe size and we will convert it to the appropriate skate size.
2. Loosen the skates all the way down past the curve of the boot.
3. Hold the tongue up as you put your foot in so that it does not slide down with your foot into the boot.
4. Skates should fit snugly. No need for Room-to-grow.

All guests are required to abide by the Skater’s Guidelines displayed at the rink. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry reserves the right to revoke the skating privileges of any guest who violates these rules or engages other guests in this event. There are no refunds.
