Meet the Artist: A Conversation and Book Signing with Christopher Marley

Meet Christopher Marley, the bestselling author whose stunning three-dimensional art – comprised of sustainably-sourced animal, mineral and plant specimens – is featured in our current exhibit, Exquisite Creatures Revealed. Following the conversation and Q&A we will host a book signing.
Amy Stewart, best selling author will interview Christopher. Amy Stewart is the New York Times best-selling author of The Tree Collectors, The Drunken Botanist, Wicked Plants, and several other popular nonfiction titles about the natural world.

Tickets:$10 adults, $9 seniors, $8 youth.
*Included with your ticket is a general admission pass to come back to the museum on a different day and access the featured exhibit Exquisite Creatures Revealed. You will receive your pass when you check in for the event.
Books will be available for purchase at the event via the Science Store. There will be 3 book options available: Biophilia ($55), Exquisite Creatures ($75) and Limited-edition Exquisite Creatures in a silk clamshell case ($90).
Christopher Marley is an American artist, author, and naturalist born in Los Angeles and raised in the Pacific Northwest. At 18 he left home and lived for over a decade in dozens of countries pursuing a career in fashion while studying art and design. His unique aesthetic was honed while working for iconic brands such as Luis Vuitton, Georgio Armani, Gucci, Donna Karan, and Nike.
Amy Stewart is the New York Times best-selling author of The Tree Collectors, The Drunken Botanist, Wicked Plants, and several other popular nonfiction titles about the natural world. She’s also written several novels in her beloved Kopp Sisters series, which are based on the true story of one of America’s first female deputy sheriffs and her two rambunctious sisters. Her books have sold over a million copies worldwide and have been translated into 18 languages. She lives in Portland with her husband Scott Brown, a rare book dealer who can usually be found at his shop, Downtown Brown Books.

Yes, the Empirical Cafe will be open with prepackaged salads, sandwiches and movie snacks. The bar will be open to guests that are 21+. No outside food or drink is allowed.
