Get your cottagecore on as you explore the science of this beautiful planet we call home.

OMSI After Dark is for the 21-and-over only crowd, where you can drink beer or wine and roam the museum with no kids around. We have science demos, performances, DJ’s, artisan food and beverage vendors and more.

21+ Only | A valid government issued ID is required for entry for all attendees.

Tickets are $25 and include access to all of OMSI’s exhibit halls, activities, performances, Planetarium shows, lectures, and vendors taking place at the event.

Spider Web Weaving | Put your silk spinning skills to the test! Design and weave a web strong enough to hold as much weight as possible.
Oregon Health Authority: soilSHOP | Get free, confidential lead screening from the Oregon Health Authority at this event with same-day results, one-on-one consultations, and practical advice on preventing metals exposure. Your soil sample must be at least two cups in a clear baggie and completely dry.

Weather & Atmosphere | (Science Fellow table) Do you prefer cloudy and rainy days or clear sky and sunny days? Do you know the atmosphere is the artist behind the clouds and clear sky? Join us and explore how the atmosphere redistributes Earth’s heat and affects our weather. Unleash your creativity and build your very own heatwave with us!

Weather Patterns in a Box | (Science Fellow table) Learn about atmospheric pressure and how different weather patterns determine the weather we experience, from heat waves to snow storms.

Exploring the Albedo Effect | (Science Fellow table) Join researcher Monica Zapata to play with soot, snow, and thermometers in order to explore the albedo effect and its relationship to climate change.

Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) | Interested in environmental protection? Learn how DEQ’s work connects with your life and share ideas about what DEQ can do to better protect air, land and water for all people in Oregon. Talk with DEQ staff to learn more about their work to restore, maintain, and enhance Oregon’s environment.

Our Theory restaurant will be open from 5-10pm! Grab dinner or a drink before the event begins at 6pm. Enjoy wine, beer, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages. Our bars will close at 9:30pm, and alcohol samples given by vendors will end at 9:45pm.

Is this event 21 and over only?

Yes, you must be 21+ to attend. Minors are not allowed. Everyone must present a valid government issued ID.

If I’m unable to attend, can I get a refund?

Yes. If your plans change, if you are feeling sick or have been potentially exposed to COVID please stay home. To request a refund email concierge@omsi.edu or call 503.797.4000 x0. We will give refunds until 5pm the night of the event.

Is there food and beverage at this event?

Yes, our restaurant, Theory will be open. Plus, we will have bars with beer, wine, cider and non-alcoholic drinks. We also typically have a couple artisan vendors giving out free samples of alcohol or snacks.

Our bars will close at 9:30pm, and alcohol samples given by vendors will end at 9:45pm.

Do I have to pay for parking?

Parking is $2 for after-hours events.
