Latin American Community Ciencias Night

Join us for our second annual Latin American Community Ciencias Night! This family friendly event welcomes visitors of all ages for a night of museum exploring, science demos, lectures, and cultural entertainment. All are welcome!

Featuring music, planetarium shows in Spanish and English, access to our summer exhibits, Orcas: Our Shared Future and Creatividad Silvestre | Wild Creativity, and more.

Community Ciencias Night Tickets
$10 Adults, $8 Youth/Seniors | Ticket includes parking and all activities. OMSI members receive a 15% discount

Science Demonstrations
- Materials from Nature: Dr. Christine Ortiz is a scientist that studies nature for ideas to improve man-made objects. Lets explore some materials inspired by the natural world
- Mind the Magnets: Dr. Rodrigo Braga is a scientists studying the brain and how it works. He uses magnetic resonance imaging to see inside our minds. Come explore a bit more about magnets and how they can help us see deeper.
- I am a Scientist!: Draw yourself as the amazing scientist you are!
- How do we study Burned Forests?: Fire affects ecosystems worldwide, but do you know how scientists study fire effects in forest ecosystems? Meet Paola, a Natural Resource Engineer from Chile, and learn how we study fire effects with an example of the Araucaria (monkey puzzle) forests from southern South America.

- Let the little ones explore Science Playground from 6-8pm
- Bring your teens to check out the Teen Tech Center from 6-8pm

Yes, our restaurant, Theory will be open. Plus, we will host 1-2 food carts. We also typically have a couple artisan vendors giving out free samples of drinks or snacks.

Do I have to pay for parking?

No, it is included in your ticket.
