Camp-Ins

 

 

Spend the night at the museum!  Perfect for school, scouting, homeschool, youth, and church groups. Plan it as a "bonding" trip, an end-of-the-year celebration, or just for fun! Whether in the museum or on the submarine, it's guaranteed to be a camping experience that's warm, safe, and dry any time of year!

Activities are aligned with state content standards for science, and provide plenty of opportunity for team-building and problem-solving. Every effort will be made to separate elementary (grades 3-5) and middle school (grades 7-8) student, but groups may be combined to meet minimum enrollment requirements. Grade 6 students may camp with either group.

 

Museum Camp-Ins include dinner, snack, and continental breakfast; OMNIMAX movie; submarine tour; and museum admission the following day.

 

Grades 3-8 • 4:30 p.m. -9:30 a.m. following day • $42/person

Submarine Camp-In

 

OMSI's Uss Blueback, a retired U.S. Navy submarine, is open for sleepovers! Learn about sonar, navigation, buoyancy, and propulsion systems; peer through the periscope; explore the torpedo room; and sleep in the crew's quarters. Every effort will be made to separate elementary (grades 3-5) and middle and high school (grades 7-12), but groups may be combined to meet minimum enrollment requirements. Grade 6 students may camp with either group.

 

Submarine Camp-Ins include snack and continental breakfast; planetarium show; and museum admission the following day.

 

Grades 3-12 • 5:30 p.m. -9:30 a.m. following day • $55/person

Hostels

 

Do you need another night in Portland to see all the sights? Join us for a youth hostel at OMSI. Note: Youth hostels do not include museum admission or activities. Standard hostels include reserved overnight sleeping space only. When you register, ask about adding activities to your hostel, such as museum admission, OMNIMAX movie, planetarium show, submarine tour, and reserved labs.
